Boltbury, Devon

Historical Description

Boltbury, a hamlet in Malborough parish, Devonshire, on the coast, between Bolt-tail and Sawmill Cove. Boltbury Down here falls precipitously to the sea; and a chasm at the highest part of its sea-cliff bears the name of Ralph's Hole, and was long the retreat of a noted smuggler.
