The Goyt, Derbyshire

Historical Description

Goyt, The, a river of Derbyshire and Cheshire. It rises in the former county, forms for a considerable distance the boundary between the two counties, receives the Etherow opposite Mellor, turns westward, and falls into the Mersey at Stockport.
