The Mite, Cumberland

Historical Description

Mite, The, a rivulet of the SW of Cumberland, rising on the Screes Mountain, in the neighbourhood of Burnmoor Tarn, and running 8 miles west-south-westward along Miter-dale, nearly parallel with the Irt and the Esk, to a common estuary with these rivers in the neighbourhood of Eavengiass.
