Scaw Fell, Cumberland
Historical Description
Scaw Fell, a mountain in the S of Cumberland, at the head of Eskdale, 11 miles NE of Ravenglass. It has a base of 2½ miles from E to W, of 5½ from N to S, rises to an altitude of 3229 feet above sea-level, is the loftiest mountain in England, and commands magnificent and extensive views.
