Portingscale, Cumberland
Historical Description
Portingscale, a village in Crosthwaite parish, Cumberland, 1 mile W by N of Keswick, and half a mile from Braithwaite station on the Cockermouth, Keswick, and Penrith railway. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Keswick. Lord Leconfield is lord of the manor.
