Over Water or Ovenneer, Cumberland

Historical Description

Over Water or Ovenneer, a lakelet in the centre of Cumberland, at the NW skirt of Caldbeck Fells, 3 miles S by E of Ireby. It measures about 1½ mile in circuit, and is one of the sources of the river Ellen, which flows into the Irish Sea at Maryport.
