Ormathwaite, Cumberland
Historical Description
Ormathwaite, a seat in Crossthwaite parish, Cumberland, 1½ mile NNE of Keswick. It was the residence of the philosopher Dr Brownrigg, and is now the property of Lord Ormathwaite. The house comprises the remains of a peel tower of the 15th century.
