Miterdale, Cumberland

Historical Description

Miterdale, the vale of the rivulet Mite, in Cumberland. Its upper part is separated from Wastdale by Latterbarrow Fell, and from Eskdale by Blaeberry Tarn Fell; its central part, immediately below these fells, is crossed by the road from Santon Bridge to Bout and Ulpha, and the left side of its lower part is separated from Eskdale by Muncaster Fell.
