Gable, Cumberland
Historical Description
Gable, Great, a mountain at the head of Ennerdale, in 'Cumberland, overhanging Wastdale Head and the pass of Sty Head. It has an altitude of 2954 feet above sea-level, and, -as seen from many points, presents an outline similar to that of a house-gable.
