Druid, Cumberland
Historical Description
Druid's Circle, a well-preserved Druidical temple, 2 milrs E of Keswick, in Cumberland. It crowns a hill commanding a grand view, comprises thirty-eight rough granite stones, set in a circle nearly 100 feet in diameter, and ten other stones set in an oblong on the circle's east side, and was a favourite resort of the poet Southey.
