Carrock Fell, Cumberland
Historical Description
Carrock-Fell, a mountain of the Skiddaw group in Cumberland, 3½ miles S of Hesket Newmarket. Much of it is rocky and broken, many parts are interesting to the mineralogist, and on the summit, which has an altitude of 2173 feet, there is an imperfectly defined circle of stones, which is supposed to have surrounded a primeval fort.
