Armathwaite Hall, Cumberland

Historical Description

Armathwaite Hall, a mansion at the foot of Bassenthwaite Water, 5½ miles ENE of Cockermouth, Cumberland. The grounds are very beautiful, and a spot adjacent to them, on the road to Hesket-Newmarket, commands one of the richest views of Bassenthwaite Water and its screens.
