The Hayle or Heyl, Cornwall

Historical Description

Hayle or Heyl, The, a river of the SW of Cornwall. It rises near Crowan, runs about 6 miles westward, and about 4 north-north-westward, and falls into the head of St Ives Bay. About 2 miles of it are tidal.
