Historical Description
Crofton, a village in Thursby parish, Cumberland, on the river Wampool, 1 mile from Cnrthwaite station on the Maryport and Carlisle railway, and 3½ miles ENE of Wigton. Crofton Hall is the seat of the Brisco family.
