Glynllifon, Carnarvonshire

Historical Description

Glynllifon, the seat of the Wynn family, in Carnarvonshire, on the Llifon, 5 miles SSW of Carnarvon. The property belonged anciently to Cilmin Troed Du, ancestor of one of the tribes of North Wales, and passed to the Glynnes. The present mansion is recent and splendid, and the grounds include a mausoleum, a fort, and an ancient carreg or pillar.
