Higher Whitley, Cheshire

Historical Description

Whitley, Higher, a village and a township in Great Budworth parish, Cheshire, 3½ miles NE by N of Acton Bridge station on the L. & N.W.R., and 5½ NW by N of Northwich. There is a post office under Northwich; money order and telegraph office, Stretton. Acreage, 1020; population, 303. There is a parish council consisting of five members. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
