The Sirhowy, Breconshire

Historical Description

Sirhowy, The, a river in Brecknockshire and Monmouthshire, rising on Mynydd Llangynidr in Brecknockshire, and running about 18 miles south-south-eastward, past Tredegar, Argoed, and Mynyddyslwyn to the Ebbw, three-quarters of a mile above Risca. Its vale is rich in minerals, and teems with mineral works.
