Black Mountains, Breconshire

Historical Description

Black Mountains, a wild, high mountain ridge on the E border of Brecknockshire, extending 16 miles southward from the valley of the Wye near Hay to the valley of the Usk below Crickhowel. Its highest point is Pen-Cader-Fawr, 2545 feet high, 5 miles SE of Talgarth.
