Historical Description

Llanfihangel Rhydithon, a parish in Radnorshire, lying between the river Aran and Radnor Forest, a mountain 2166 feet above the level of the sea, 3 miles NE of Penybont, and 10 from Knighton and Presteigne. Post town, Dolau (R.S.O.) Acreage, 5948; population, 319. Radnor Forest tiffords beautiful walks and rides. From its heights the magnificent scenery of Radnorshire can be seen at its best The name " Forest" is in Welsh fforest, " an impassable place'' beyond cities and cultivated lands. The living is a vicarage, annexed to the vicarage of Llandewi Ystradenny, in the diocese of St David's. The church was restored in 1891, and has a fine peal of bells.
