Trevalga, Cornwall

Historical Description

Trevalga, a parish in Cornwall, on the coast, 3 miles NNW of Camelford station on the L. & S.W.R., and 16½ W by N of Launceston. Post town, Boscastle. Acreage, 1325; population, 126. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Truro; net value, £130. Patron, the Dean and Chapter of Truro. The church is an ancient building of stone in various styles, and was restored in 1875. The coast is considered the most grandly picturesque in the north of Cornwall, has adjacent to it several rocky islands, the home of countless sea-birds. The Growa slate quarries are in this parish. There is a small Bible Christian chapel.
