Trefdraeth, Anglesey

Historical Description

Trefdraeth, a parish in Anglesey, 1 mile ENE of Bodorgan station on the L. & N.W.R., and 6 miles SW of Llangefni. It contains the villages of Bethel and Yard Malltraeth, and has fairs on 1 May and 1 Nov. Post town, Bodorgan, (R.S.O.) Acreage, 3179 of land and 137 of water (including 64 of foreshore); population of the civil parish, 804; of the ecclesiastical, with Llangwyfan, 972. There is a parish council consisting of fifteen members. The living is a rectory, united with Llangwyfan, in the diocese of Bangor; net value, £268 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Bangor. The church is good. There are Calvinistic Methodist and Wesleyan chapels.
