Wolford, two townships and a parish in Warwickshire. The townships are Great Wolford and Little Wolford. Great Wolford includes a village of the same name, and is 4 miles SW of Shipston-on-Stour, and 4 ENE of Moreton-in-the-Marsh. Post town, Shipston-on-Stour. Acreage, 1369; population, 202. Little Wolford is 3 miles S of Shipston-on-Stour. Acreage, 1343; population, 173. Little Wolford Hall, an Elizabethan mansion, formerly belonged to the Ingram family, and is now used as a school. The ecclesiastical parish includes Burmington. Population, 530. The living is a vicarage, united with Burmington, in the diocese of Worcester; gross value, £105 with residence. Patron, Merton College, Oxford. The church was rebuilt in 1833.
