Historical Description
Wothorpe, a hamlet in Stanford Baron parish, Northamptonshire, 1 mile W of Stamford. Acreage, 637; population, 110. Wothorpe Hall was built by the great Cecil, and is now a ruin surrounded by a walled park, the property of The Marquis of Exeter. A Benedictine cell was founded in the time of Henry I.
