Shawdon, a township in Whittingham parish, Northumberland, 7 miles W of Alnwick, and 1 mile from Whittingham station on the N.E.R. Post town, Alnwick; money order and telegraph office, Glanton. Acreage, 1233; population, 108. Shawdon Hall was built in 1788 by the Hargreaves.
