Whatlington, a parish in Sussex, 2 miles N by E of Battle station on the S.E.R. It has a post office under Battle; money order and telegraph office, Sedlescombe. Acreage, 1260; population, 348. There is a parish council of five members and a chairman. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester; gross value, £130 with residence. Patron, Lord Sackville. The church is a small building of stone in the Early English style. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
