Historical Description

Street, a parish in Sussex, 4 miles SE of Burgess Hill, 1½ mile from Plumpton station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and 3 miles from Hassocks. It has a post office under Hassocks; money order office, Ditchling; telegraph office, Plumpton. Acreage, 1281; population, 208. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester; net value, £150 with residence. The church, which was restored in 1852, was enlarged in 1882.
