Rodmell, a village and a parish in Sussex. The village stands on Ermine Street, near the river Ouse, 3 miles SSE of Lewes station on the L.B. & S.C.R. It has a post office under Lewes; money order and telegraph office, Lewes. Acreage of the parish, 1936; population, 229. The manor belongs to the Marquis ofAbergavenny. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester; net value, £250 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Chichester. The church is of the 12th century, and has a tower and shingled spire.
