Historical Description
Rumboldswyke, a parish in Sussex, 1 mile from Chichester station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and partly within the SE side of Chichester city. Post town, Chichester. Acreage, 652; population, 1497. Hornet hamlet is in the parish. The Teresian convent of Mount Carmel was erected in 1872. It can accommodate twenty-one nuns. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester; net value, £180 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Chichester. The church has been enlarged and restored.
