Historical Description
Guilford or Guildeford, East, a parish in Sussex, on the river Rother, 1½ mile NE of Rye station on the S.E.R. Post town, Ashford; money order and telegraph office, Rye. Acreage, 2823; population of the civil parish, 159; of the ecclesiastical, 441. The living is a rectory, united with the rectory of Playden, in the diocese of Chichester. The church is good.
