Headley, Surrey
Historical Description
Headley, a village and a parish in Surrey. The village lies under Headley Hill, 2½ miles N by W of Betchworth station on the S.E.R., and 8 SE by E of Leatherhead, and has a post office under Epsom; money order and telegraph office, Walton-on-the-Hill. Acreage, 1640; population, 415. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester; value, £160 with residence. The chnrch was rebuilt in 1855, is in the Early English style, consists of nave and chancel with a porch, and has a tower and spire added in 1859. The churchyard commands a fine view to the N.
