Historical Description
Dalby, Little, or Dalby Parva, a village and a parish in Leicestershire, 4¼ miles SSE of Melton-Mowbray, and 2¼E from Great Dalby station on the G.N. and L. & N.W". Joint railway. There is a post, money order, and telegraph-office under Melton-Mowbray. Acreage, 1885; population, 184.

Church of England
St. James (parish church)
The church of St. James is an edifice of stone, restored in 1851-2. by E. B. Hartopp esq. partly in the Decorated style, and consists of chancel, clerestoried nave of four bays, aisles, transepts, south porch and western tower with spire, containing 3 bells: the chancel retains very beautiful triple-canopied sedilia and a piscina: there are several stained windows, and between the clerestory windows are niches containing statuettes: in 1903 a new organ was provided and new heating apparatus put in by Lt.-Col. J. Burns Hartopp D.L., J.P.: the church was restored in 1851-2 by Edward Bourchier Hartopp esq. M.P. and affords 200 sittings.
