Fleckney, a parish in Leicestershire, on the Union Canal, 2 miles S from Glen station on the M.R., and 7 NW of Market Harborough. It has a post and money order office under Leicester; telegraph office, Kibworth Harcourt. Acreage, 1271; population, 1254. The chief industry is framework knitting, for which there are two steam factories. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough; net yearly value, £120 with residence. Patron, the Earl of Lovelace. The church is a small but ancient building of stone in the Middle Pointed style. There is a Baptist chapel.

St. Nicholas (parish church)
The church of St. Nicholas is an ancient building of stone, in the Middle Pointed style, consisting of chancel, nave, south aisle, south porch, organ chamber and an open western turret, containing 2 bells: in the chancel are piscinae and sedilia and the south porch has a good Norman doorway with double zigzag mouldings: in the east end is a stained glass window, erected at a cost of £232, in memory of the Rev. A. S. Coleman M.A.: there is a marble tablet, bearing the names of the men of this parish who fell in the Great War, 1914-18, and erected at a cost of £100, raised by public subscription: there are 280 sittings.
