Witham-on-the-Hill, a township and a parish in Lincolnshire. The township lies 3 miles from Essendine station on the G.N.R., and 4 SW of Bourn. It has a post office under Bourn; money order and telegraph office, Little Bytham. Acreage, 2167; population, 226. The parish includes Manthorpe, Toft, and Lound hamlets, and comprises 4577 acres; population, 456. Witham Hall is the chief residence. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln; net value, £200 with residence. The church is a building of stone, has a tower and spire, and has been restored. There are a Wesleyan chapel, an endowed school, and charities.
