Sutton, Shropshire

Historical Description

Sutton, a village and a parish in Salop, 1¼ miles S by E of Shrewsbury. Post town, Shrewsbury. Acreage, 507; population, 52. There is a sulphurous spring. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford. Patron, Lord Berwick. The church is a small building in a ruinous condition, and not used for divine service. The inhabitants attend Meole Brace Church.
