Historical Description
Mottram St Andrew, a village and a township in Prestbury parish, Cheshire, 2¼ miles NW of Prestbury. Post town, Macelesfield; money order and telegraph office, Prestbury. Acreage, 1792; population, 381. The manor belonged formerly to the Mottram family, passed to the Calveleys and Booths, and belongs now to the Wright family. Mottram Old Hall is an ancient mansion, and was formerly moated. Lee Hall is another chief residence.
