Hilbre, Cheshire

Historical Description

Hilbre, a headland and islets in Cheshire. The headland is the western point of the Wirral Peninsula, at the month of the Dee, 7½ miles W by S of Birkenhead. The islets are a group of rocks 1 mile W of the headland; the largest of them has two beacons to mark the Swash Channel.
