Hessay, a village and a township in Monkton Moor parish, W.R. Yorkshire, 5½ miles WNW of York, with a station on the N.E.R. Post town, Rufforth; money order and telegraph office, Holgate. Acreage of township, 1255; population, 92. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
