Historical Description
Grantley, a township in W.R. Yorkshire, 5¼ miles WSW of Ripon town and railway station. It has a post office under Ripon, and gives the title of Baron to the family of Norton. Acreage, 772; population, 160. Grantley Hall is the seat of Lord Grantley, who is lord of the manor and principal landowner. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
