Road Hill, Wiltshire

Historical Description

Road Hill, an ecclesiastical parish in Wiltshire, adjacent to Road in Somerset, and 4 miles from Trowbridge station on the G.W.R. It was constituted in 1824, and its post town is Road, under Bath. Population, 277. For parish council purposes it forms a ward of Sonthwick parish, and returns six members. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Salisbury; net value, £140 with residence. Patron, the Vicar of North Bradley. The church is a stone building in the Gothic style.
