Brothers Water, Westmorland
Historical Description
Brothers-Water, a lake at the head of Patterdale, in Westmoreland, 2 miles S of Patterdale Inn. It is½ of a mile long, ½ a mile broad, and 72 feet deep, fed by the streams from the Red Screes, and it lies amid rugged masses of rock and mountain, and has a picturesque character. Its ancient name was Broadwater.
