Over Whitacre, Warwickshire

Historical Description

Whitacre, Over, a parish in Warwickshire, adjacent to Shustoke station on the Birmingham and Leicester branch of the M.R., and 4 miles NE of Coleshill. Post town, Coleshill, under Birmingham; telegraph office, Whitacre Junction. Acreage, 1414; population, 297. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Worcester; net value, £144 with residence. The church was erected in 1766 on the site of a previous edifice. It stands on an eminence, and is in the Italian style, with a lofty spire.
