Combrook, Warwickshire

Historical Description

Combrook or Combroke, a village, a township, and an ecclesiastical parish in Compton Verney parish, Warwickshire. The village is adjacent to the Fosse Way, 2 miles W by N of Kineton. It has a post office under Warwick; money order and telegraph office, Kineton. There is a working men's institute. The township comprises 1145 acres; population, 209. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1853. Population, 295. The living is a vicarage consolidated witli that of Compton Verney in the diocese of Worcester; gross joint value, £200. Patron, Lord Willoughby de Broke, The church was rebuilt in 1867, and contains an ancient font. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
