Field Place, Sussex

Historical Description

Field Place, a seat in Sussex, 2 miles NW of Horsham. It belonged to the Michells, passed by marriage to Sir Bysshe Shelley, and was the birthplace of the poet Shelley. It includes some ancient portions, but has been much altered.
