Crowborough Town, Sussex

Historical Description

Crowborough Town, an ecclesiastical parish, formed in 1872 out of the parish of Witham, in Sussex, 2 miles from Cirowborough station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and 9 from. Tunbridge West. Post, money order, and telegraph office, Crowborough Cross. Population, 650. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Chichester; value, £150, in the gift of Lord De la Ware. The church was built in 1839. There are almshouses for six women.
