Hoebridge, Surrey

Historical Description

Hoebridge, a hamlet in Woking parish, Surrey, on a branch of the river Wey, half a mile N of Woking. The manor around it, which had an old palace of the time of Edward II., was given by James I. to Sir Edward Zouch, and Sir Edward, regarding the palace as unfit for use, built a new mansion at Hoe Place.
