Swilland, a village and a parish in Suffolk, 5 miles NE from Claydon station on the Ipswich and Norwich section of the G.E.R., and 6 N by E of Ipswich. Post town, Ipswich; money order office, Grundisburgh; telegraph office, Claydon. Acreage, 956; population, 214. The manor belongs to the Hatten family. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £163 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is a small edifice of rubble.
