Historical Description
Kenton, a parish, with a village, in Suffolk, 2½ miles NE from Debenham, and 63- WNW of Framlingham station on the G.E.R. It has a post office under Stonham; money order and telegraph office, Debenham. Acreage, 1229; population, 258. The manor belongs to the Mills family. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; net yearly value,, £108 with residence. Patron, Lord Henniker. The church is a Gothic building of flint and stone of the 12th century, and has a mural monumental plate of the Garaey family of date 1524. There are charities worth about £55 a year.
