Historical Description
Kentford, a parish, with a village, in Suffolk, ½n the river Kennet, at the boundary with Cambridge, near Icknield Street, 4½ miles NE by E from Newmarket, and half a mile S from Kennet station on the G.E.R. It has a post and telegraph office under Newmarket; money order office, Moulton. Acreage, 800; population, 232. The manor belongs to the Rev. W. Godfrey. The living is a rectory, annexed to the vicarage of Gazeley, in the diocese of Ely; joint net value, £232 with residence. Patron, Trinity Hall, Cambridge. The church is a small edifice of stone, rubble, and clunch, in the Decorated style.
