Denham (Bungay), Suffolk

Historical Description

Denham, a parish in Suffolk, on an affluent of the river Waveney, 4 miles E by N of Eye station on the G.E.R., and 12 SW of Bungay. Post town, Wickham Market; money order and telegraph office, Hoxne. Acreage, 1282; population, 272. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; gross yearly value, £119, in the gift of Lady Bateman. The church is a small building of flint and stone, in the Norman style, and possesses six " miserere" seats, which show that it must at one time have been a collegiate church.
