Historical Description

Weston Bampfylde, a parish in Somerset, 1 mile SSE of Sparkford station on the G.W.R., and 5 miles SSW of Castle Cary. Post town, Sparkford. Acreage, 636; population, 106. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; gross value, £195 with residence. The Church of the Holy Cross is an ancient building of stone in the Gothic style, consists of a chancel, nave, S porch, and an octagonal embattled tower, and has been restored. The font is of ancient date.
